2016 ecto 1

You can see the main roof rack behind 1a in the photo that went viral. Everything is loose from the car so hopefully nothing else will walk away. I can confirm 1a is not in the same location as it was in the "last known picture" and it was moved when the petition was created since that move royally pissed off sony. I have heard the same things everyone has already said, it's in storage. I wish I could say where 1a is now but I don't know. Photo was taken before the car was moved from its spot in the "last known picture". I have seen a photo of 1a that was taken after the "last known picture" of it went viral. Both cars were suppose to be restored but only ecto 1 was restored before sony pulled the plug on 1a. There are photos of both cars at cvs next to each other posted somewhere on this site. I think all of the responses to this original post have summed up the reality that ecto 1 was restored and ecto 1a was not. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if some of that info died when Stephen Dane passed away.

2016 ECTO 1 MOVIE

I wonder if anyone has actual proof of exactly how many 59s were used for each movie and the Vin#s for each. So, then Im guessing one of those was turned into the Ecto1A for the second film. I also heard that the 84 ecto 1 originally the movie had two of them.

I just wish we had the Vin #s of the original vehicles from both movies. So, if that ecto1 is still inside the Police Museum, at least it was there February 8th of this year. This does not look like the George Barris replica. There was a recent photo someone took here. Isnt there a thread or page somewhere that shows the Original Ecto 1 Vin #? I thought there was an Ecto 1 parked and displayed at the L.A. I was looking around but could not find it. Im curious as to where the Ecto 1A went after the "Ecto 1" was restored. There is PROOF in that photo above that the Ecto 1A was at some point in that garage when the supposedly "Original Ecto1" was restored. That's a rumor that its in storage somewhere. Don't just tell me "oh its in some wearhouse storage" If Im wrong, someone show me a photo today of where Ecto 1A is. Now this makes me wonder if this restored Ecto 1 (that is really the Ecto 1A) is now at the L.A. She has been resurrected into the Ecto 1.

So, Im going to assume that Ecto 1A is dead and we will never see her again. This is the thumbnail and this is the "Ecto 1" Restoration video image:Īnd in the video, THIS is what was inside that they took to take the 1,000s of photos of to recreate the Ecto 1 accessories and restore them: This was the last time we saw what was once inside the car: This is agreed to be the last known photo of the Ecto 1A and its current condition last we have seen. Maybe this has been mentioned before in some other thread but has anyone noticed how it looks as though Sony gave them the Ecto1A to restore as the Ecto 1? Here is what I am talking about: The only logical explanation is that at some point the team entered a shared ownership situation of Ecto-1, although that still wouldn't excuse Egon's theft of it.I just watched the Ecto 1 restoration video again and I noticed something that I didn't pick up on before. Winston recovering the vehicle at the end of Ghostbusters: Afterlife is also odd since again, Ray bought it. Ray seems upset by that, yet apparently didn't bother to use his ownership rights to have it legally tracked down by a repossession firm. That would make Ray its legal owner, yet Egon is said to have absconded with it when he ran off to Summerville. Lastly, Ghostbusters 1984 is clear on the fact that Ray purchased what would become the Ecto-1 for $4800, and to call it a fixer-upper would be an understatement. The gunner seat is itself likely a nod to the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, in which Ecto-1 did have such a device, but in-universe, it doesn't make much sense. Making things a bit more confusing on the retcon front is that the Ecto-1 now has a gunner seat, which must've presumably been installed prior to Egon leaving the team behind, as he couldn't both drive and operate the gunner seat simultaneously. Yet, while Afterlife director Jason Reitman insists Ghostbusters 2 is still canon, the vehicle seen in his movie sports the original Ecto-1 design, with no explanation of why the upgrades were jettisoned.
